JPU has improved and encouraged researchers in both theoretical and applied fields. Faculty members usually carry out research works and projects inside and outside the University in order to enhance creativity and scientific achievement. The Scientific Research Deanship was established in September, 2010 with the responsibility to plan, manage, and support all kinds of research activities that are carried out by the academic departments through internal and external funding. The functional responsibilities of the Scientific Research Deanship mainly include research activities such as funded research projects, professional conference attendance, and research awards through the Scientific Research Council.

The Deanship of Scientific Research seeks to provide an attractive research environment for the researchers with the aim of increasing scientific knowledge production in a way that serves the community and be consistent with Jerash University's vision and mission.
