The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of trade openness, energy consumption, and financial development on Jordan's economic development using the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) method. By looking at data from 1970 through 2022, the study reveals a short- and long-term impact. Short-term economic development was found to be positively influenced by energy consumption but negatively influenced by trade openness and financial development. However, financial development has a favourable effect on economic development in the long run, whereas trade openness and energy consumption have a negative effect. Furthermore, evidence of a nonlinear bidirectional causal relationship between trade openness and economic development, and evidence of a one-way causal relationship between energy consumption and economic development, were found by the results of Diks and Panchenko's Granger causality test. The development of the economy and the financial sector also demonstrated a reciprocal causal relationship. These findings have important implications for policy and strategic planning for Jordan's economic growth and underscore the need to carefully weigh the potential costs and gains of trade liberalization, financial sector development, and energy consumption.
Within the context of Jordanian international business management, the current study explores the subtle relationships between global strategic alliances (ISA), corporate competitiveness (CC), and technological innovation (TI). Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) is used to assess the interaction between these variables as well as the mediation and moderation effects. Utilizing a sample size of 350 individuals who occupy professional, management, and decision-making roles in Jordanian businesses engaged in international commerce, the research article shows notable and significant positive associations. The results of the path analysis show a strong relationship between global strategic alliances (ISA) and both corporate competitiveness (CC) and technological innovation (TI). This shows that ISA is essential in fostering innovation inside organizations and developing competitive strategies. Additionally, this study looks at the connection between corporate competitiveness (CC) and technical innovation (TI), finding a very strong one. This emphasizes how important technological advancement is in enhancing a company's ability to compete. The model's mediating and moderating effects are the focus of the study's most important findings. The results provide solid support for the mediating role, indicating that the correlations between ISA, TI, and CC are interrelated and have an impact on one another. Furthermore, the findings of this study demonstrate a noteworthy moderation effect, suggesting the existence of external factors that exert an influence on the associations between these variables. This research provides valuable perspectives on the intricacies of global strategic partnerships, technical advancements, and corporate competitiveness within the realm of international business administration in Jordan. Through the elucidation of the complex interconnections and fundamental mechanisms, this research endeavour enhances our understanding of the influence of these factors on the competitive strategies and innovation endeavours of organisations.

This research investigates the relationship between financial literacy, financial technology, financial behavior, and financial inclusion development in Jordanian MSMEs. Specifically, it seeks to examine whether financial behavior mediates the influence of financial literacy and financial technology on financial inclusion development. This study employs a partial least square structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) approach to investigate the relationship between financial literacy, financial technology (FinTech), financial behavior, and financial inclusion development in Jordanian micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Based on a sample of 334 MSMEs in Jordan, the study found that financial literacy and FinTech have a significant impact on financial inclusion development in MSMEs. Additionally, financial behavior was found to mediate the relationship between financial literacy and FinTech on financial inclusion development. The findings of this study suggest that financial literacy and FinTech can be useful tools in promoting financial inclusion in MSMEs, and that financial behavior plays a crucial role in realizing their full potential. The study provides insights into the factors that influence financial inclusion in MSMEs and has implications for policymakers, financial institutions, and MSMEs in Jordan and other emerging economies. The use of PLS-SEM in this study provides a robust statistical approach for analyzing the complex relationships between the variables of interest. The scientific novelty of this study lies in its focus on the mediating effect of financial behavior on the relationship between financial literacy, financial technology, and financial inclusion development in Jordanian MSMEs.
This survey study examines the effect of organizational structure on employee creativity. A total of 230 employees from various industries were surveyed to gather data on their perceptions of their organization's structure and their own creativity levels. The study found that a flatter organizational structure, characterized by a decentralized decision-making process, autonomy, and flexibility, was positively associated with employee creativity. In contrast, a hierarchical structure, characterized by strict rules, centralized decision-making, and limited autonomy, was negatively associated with employee creativity. The study's findings suggest that organizational structure plays a critical role in fostering employee creativity and that organizations should consider adopting a flatter structure to encourage creativity among their employees. These findings have important implications for managers and organizations seeking to foster a more creative and innovative workforce.
The research paper investigates the relationship between financial technology (FinTech) adoption, financial satisfaction, and financial performance among consumers in Jordan. The study uses Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to analyze data collected from a sample of 500 SMEs in Jordan. The results of the study suggest that FinTech adoption positively affects financial performance, while financial satisfaction mediates the relationship between FinTech adoption and financial performance. The study also found that financial satisfaction has a significant impact on financial performance, suggesting that customers who are satisfied with their financial situation are more likely to achieve better financial performance. In conclusion, the study provides valuable insights into the role of financial satisfaction as a mediator in the relationship between FinTech adoption and financial performance, highlighting the importance of understanding the factors that influence customer satisfaction and the adoption of FinTech services in the financial industry. These findings have implications for financial service providers and policymakers in Jordan, as well as in other countries with similar economic and social conditions, where the adoption of FinTech is rapidly increasing.
Sustainable development has become a crucial goal for policymakers worldwide, with technological progress playing a significant role in achieving this objective. Jordan, a developing country in the Middle East, has been working towards the attainment of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by leveraging technology to promote economic growth while preserving the environment. In this study, we evaluate the impact of technological improvements on SDGs in Jordan by analyzing the relationship between financial development, energy consumption, and economic growth. The analysis covers the period from 1970 to 2021 and employs three econometric techniques, namely the Lee and Strazicich (2013) second-generation econometric approach, the novel Augmented Autoregressive Distributed Lag (AARDL) model, and Frequency Domain Causality (FDC) analysis. The results indicate a positive and significant association between financial development, energy use, and economic growth, with financial development having the strongest impact. Moreover, technological progress plays a crucial role in achieving SDGs by positively affecting financial development, energy consumption, and economic growth. This study highlights the importance of leveraging technology to promote sustainable development and provides valuable insights for policymakers in Jordan and other developing countries.
Purpose: The aim of this study is to examine how financial risk tolerance and the engagement of a financial advisor management affect the relationship between financial attitudes, financial knowledge, financial anxiety, and sustainable financial retirement planning. Design/methodology/approach: The data were gathered from 384 self-employed people in Jordan's northern area. The data was analysed using partial least square structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM). Findings: The results show that retirement planning is highly impacted by financial attitudes, financial knowledge, and financial anxiety. Additionally, this association is mediated by financial risk tolerance and the presence of a financial advisor management. Research, Practical and Social implications: The findings highlight the need of taking into account people's risk tolerance and seeking advice from a financial advisor management when forming sustainable financial retirement planning. With the help of this study, policymakers, financial experts, and self-employed people in Jordan will have a better grasp of the variables affecting retirement planning, and they will get knowledge on how to improve their own financial readiness for retirement. Originality/value: The value of the study uniquely explores financial risk tolerance and advisor management's mediating roles, leveraging PLS-SEM, enhancing sustainable retirement planning strategies.
Objectives: Over the past few years, Jordan's economy has grown rapidly, placing it prominently among the world's emerging markets and developing economies rapidly. The country is known for its diverse natural resources. However, the effects of macroeconomic uncertainty, energy intensity, and trade openness on the environment have received less attention than the environmental implications of energy generation. This research fills a significant gap in the literature by investigating the impact of macroeconomic policy uncertainty on Jordan's environmental Kuznets curve from 1970 to 2021. Methods: This study adopted a methodological framework to simulate dynamic distributed self-regression. Results: The results of the study revealed that uncertainty about the future direction of macroeconomic policy accelerates the short and long-term rate of environmental degradation; economic growth accelerates environmental degradation while the square of economic growth slows it, confirming the presence of the environmental Kuznets curve hypothesis; energy density accelerates the rate of environmental quality degradation. Conclusions: Jordan should adopt advanced, environmentally friendly, clean technologies that transition from fossil fuels to low-carbon renewable energy sources. The government should establish strong international partnerships for technology exchange and environmental preservation. Additionally, increasing Jordan's economic complexity is crucial for achieving its environmental development goals.
This study examines the impact of religious and ethnic values on executive compensation in Jordanian firms from 2016 to 2022, using regression analysis with Diff-GMM and Sys-GMM estimation methods to examine compensation dynamics and their alignment with values. The Sys-GMM model shows a robust positive relationship between lagged and current executive compensation. With respect to Islamic values, both methods show a significant decrease in executive compensation in firms that adhere to Islamic principles. In addition, Christian and Catholic affiliation show a significant relationship with executive compensation. Ethical values also consistently show a significant negative relationship with executive compensation. However, control variables, including company size, CEO age, education, experience, and tenure, also play a critical role in shaping executive compensation. Companies need to place these findings in the context of broader corporate dynamics and examine potential interactions with other factors that influence compensation decisions. This study contributes to the understanding of the complicated relationship between religious and ethnic values and executive compensation in Jordanian companies. The findings have important governance and practice implications for companies seeking to align their compensation practices with their values in order to promote ethical accountability, social responsibility, and fairness in the business landscape.
